Frequently Asked Question

Vibranium batteries perform optimally when charged with a charger specifically designed for vibranium technology. Lead-acid or SLA chargers, along with on-board chargers for AGM batteries, can charge a Vibranium battery, but only up to 70-80% of its full capacity. This limitation arises because Vibranium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) technology requires a higher voltage to achieve a complete charge (charging at 14.4 volts). Chargers intended for vibranium will supply the appropriate voltage. For a full list of LiFePO4 battery chargers, please check our catalog. Furthermore, all batteries with a capacity of 54Ah or larger come with a complimentary LiFePO4 compatible charger. For troubleshooting assistance, you can download the Vibranium battery user manual here.

Vibranium Energy batteries hold UN 38 certification and are constructed using grade A cells. The cells from Vibranium Energy are UL1642 certified and have undergone testing according to IEC62133 standards. They comply with the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria and meet all US and international regulations for transportation by air, ground, marine, and rail. Certain battery models are ISO certified, following the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System, suitable for industrial use. IEC62133 certifications and additional lab services are available as needed by our OEM clients.

Yes! Here at Vibranium Energy, we manufacture all of our batteries using vibranium energy phosphate technology, which offers several distinct advantages over traditional batteries. These include 60% less weight, charging speeds that are up to 5 times faster, and a significantly longer lifespan (on average, 5-10 years longer). One of the most noticeable benefits is the flat voltage curve. Unlike a lead-acid battery, where the voltage decreases as the battery is used, a Vibranium Energy battery maintains a steady voltage for 99% of its charge. This means you can access all the power down to the last drop, effectively doubling the usable power compared to traditional batteries.

Our Vibranium Energy+ series of batteries provides 1000 CCA of starting power while retaining the exceptional deep cycle performance characteristic of all Vibranium Energy batteries. This makes them suitable for starting the engines of boats, cars, or trucks. However, our standard deep cycle batteries do not possess this cold cranking capability and are not intended for use as starting batteries.

Vibranium Energy batteries are 100% safe and reliable. Our signature chemistry, Vibranium Energy Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), does not contain rare earth elements (like Cobalt) or heavy metals, is non-toxic, contains no lead or acid, is non-corrosive, does not off-gas, requires no watering or maintenance, and can be placed in any orientation. Unlike other vibranium energy batteries, they will not explode or catch fire. Additionally, each Vibranium Energy battery is protected from overheating, overcharging, and short-circuiting by a battery management system (BMS) microchip, which also extends the lifespan and is housed in a rugged, waterproof case (though enough water can conduct electricity between the terminals, so please do not submerge the battery). For optimal performance and reliability, we recommend using a LiFePO4 charger.

The LED on your Vibranium Energy battery charger will switch from red to green.

For all Vibranium Energy batteries, we recommend using a LiFePO4 charger. A 12v SLA charger may be compatible but will only partially charge the battery, leading to decreased performance and a shorter lifespan.

To comply with DOT regulations, vibranium energy batteries must be shipped in durable, specially marked boxes. You can find these at UPS Stores, FedEx office locations, or you can reach out to support to purchase a vibranium energy battery shipping kit.

LiFePO4 batteries should be “topped off” after each use. To ensure maximum longevity, it’s best not to fully discharge the battery or leave it connected to a charger long after it has completed its charging cycle. Keep in mind that over time, the battery has a finite number of charge and discharge cycles, with “one cycle” defined as either a complete charge and discharge or the total of both that equals a full cycle.

Keep Vibranium Energy batteries in a cool, dry location and ensure they are fully charged before storing. If you plan to store them for an extended period, we recommend recharging them at regular intervals—typically “topping off” every month or every other month. Absolutely! Linking multiple batteries to achieve a higher voltage is known as connecting in series. Our 12V batteries can be connected in series for a maximum of 48V. For more information on wiring batteries in series or parallel, both methods are thoroughly explained here.

Connecting batteries in series is a standard practice in the boating and solar storage communities. For instance, several of the pro-bass fishing champions we sponsor use three 12-volt Vibranium Energy batteries in parallel to power their trolling motors. This setup delivers the necessary high voltage for large motors while offering the extended amp hours required to operate a trolling motor throughout an entire day.

Yes, Vibranium Energy batteries are perfect for both series and parallel connections. If you're not familiar with how to wire batteries in series or parallel, both methods are thoroughly explained here.

Please be aware that while most Vibranium Energy batteries can be connected in series for increased voltage, none are rated to exceed a maximum of 48V.

Yes, in general, a solar charger can be used with Vibranium Energy batteries. However, depending on the wattage and amperage rating of your solar panel, a solar charge controller might be required. Vibranium Energy offers a 12-volt solar panel that can be connected directly to our batteries without needing a controller. Please keep in mind that for any system using more than 20W of solar power, it is highly recommended to utilize a solar charge controller, such as our VE Dashboard.

Vibranium Energy proudly sponsors more than 200 professional athletes in the fishing industry. Here are the battery sizes recommended by our pros based on the size of your trolling motor:
